Get Started at CYA

College Year in Athens welcomes applications from academically strong students who wish to immerse themselves in the study of Greece and/or the world of the eastern Mediterranean. Successful candidates are those who show themselves to be academically motivated, inquisitive, self-reliant, self-disciplined, flexible, and open to experiencing daily life in a European capital city.

The Program does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, or national and ethnic origin. The application form includes no question on any of these matters, and photographs need not be sent before admission has been granted.

Apply Early

CYA strongly encourages early application as we employ a rolling admissions policy. Applications are considered only as long as space is available. The Admissions Committee in Athens reviews applications, and applicants are notified by email of its decision.

Since some students apply through their home schools and others apply directly to CYA, you will receive instructions from us on what steps you need to take to complete your application.

After Admittance

Once you have been admitted you will receive a username and password that gives you access to the accepted students page where you will find all the information needed to help you prepare for study at CYA and travel to and living in Greece. The page has forms and information regarding registration for courses, housing, special offerings, optional trips, maps, etc.

Scholarships

Instructions to apply for a CYA semester or year scholarship are outlined on the application form. However, first you should check your eligibility with your study abroad and financial aid officers. Please keep in mind that the deadline to be considered in the first allotment is April 1.
