On February 22, Professor Cudsi, who is on the faculty of the Department of Political Science and History at the University of Athens, gave a talk on "Muslim Minorities in Europe."

Dr. Cudsi, a familiar figure at CYA, having taught here during the 1990s, described the lack of a unified policy within the EU in addressing the issue of Muslim integration, the differences among member states in dealing with religious difference, the difficulties of bringing Moslems into the political system, European Islamophobia, dilemmas Moslems face in practicing their religion, and the emergence of "Euro-Islam," a nascent movement to create an Islam separate from the culture of the Middle East and rooted in Europe.
