Exciting summer courses in a range of topics on sustainability, Mediterranean diet, writing creative non-fiction, Egyptian & Greek cultures, archaeological excavating, gender roles in Ancient Athens
If you're a classics major
On-site teaching is a hallmark of the CYA study abroad program. Here A361 The Archaeology of Athens class meets inside the Parthenon with Dr. John Karavas.
Non-Classics at CYA?
ABSOLUTELY! In fact, over half of CYA students come from majors other than classics and find courses that count towards their graduation requirements.
Bread & Puppet at CYA
In spring 2015 the Bread & Puppet Theater will be working with students in the Attic Tragedy (in translation) course to produce a show inspired by Greek tragedy entitled ‘A Thing Done in a Seeing Place’.
BFF
A special bond and lifelong friendships are formed among CYAers during their semester or year in Athens. The OWL Newsletter and reunions help former classmates keep in touch.
Hands-On Learning
Wherever possible CYA offers students direct contact with the material. Here students are excavating at Aixonides Halai with a 2-week program before the start of the spring semester .
