College Year in Athens welcomes applications for academically strong students who wish to immerse themselves in the study of Greece and/or the world of the eastern Mediterranean. Successful candidates are those who show themselves to be academically motivated, inquisitive, self-reliant, self-disciplined, flexible, and open to experiencing daily life in a European capital city.
The Program does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, sex, or national and ethnic origin. The application form includes no question on any of these matters, and photographs need not be sent before admission has been granted.

A complete application consists of the following:
Personal Statement including a brief biographical sketch and a statement of purpose explaining what the applicant hopes to achieve by enrolling in the CYA summer program(s).
Official Transcript, in a sealed envelope, of college or university work undertaken.
Two Letters of Academic Recommendation in sealed envelopes.
Statement of Study Abroad Approval for those seeking credit.
Non-refundable Application Fee of $35, payable by check to "College Year in Athens." (Please see Payment and Refund Policy.)
Applicants who have graduated from college or university may supply names and addresses of two academic or professional referees instead of letters of recommendation.
A physician’s statement is not part of the application documentation, but a check-up prior to going overseas is highly recommended. Participants are required to carry medical insurance valid for Greece.Schedule
Applications are reviewed upon receipt and, when deemed complete, are forwarded to the Admissions Committee in Athens.
When space is limited and there are two or more similarly qualified applicants, preference will be given to the earlier applicant(s). Early application is, therefore, strongly recommended.
A reduction of $100 is given to students who submit application with full payment postmarked on or before March 1.
College Year in Athens reserves the right to cancel any course that fails to achieve minimum enrollment by April 1.
The Admissions Committee in Athens reviews applications, and applicants are notified in writing of its decision. Completed applications and supporting documents should be sent to the attention of Admissions Committee, to:
